KATHERINE BENNETT-GREER'S WRITING LIFE

Writing Education:

Katherine Bennett-Greer began her screenplay journey by studying the craft of screenwriting. She is a graduate of Max Adams' Academy of Film Writing and ScreenwritingU's screenwriting program. She successfully auditioned for and was admitted to Max Adams' 5150 Workshop, a prestigious screenwriting workshop where peer feedback and Adam's mentorship evoked great strides in her skillset.

Writing Inspiration:

Katherine looks to several authors to school her on compelling storytelling. These include the magical wonder of J.K. Rowling's 'Harry Potter', the modern and classic twists of spirituality and mysticism of Dan Brown, the meticulous plot crafting of Scott Turow, and the think outside-the-box plots of Geraldine Brooks as found in her novel People of the Book.

SCREENWRITING

Produced Screenwriter:

Katherine is a produced screenwriter through 'Stain', a short paranormal thriller film that she wrote on spec. The film debuted at the 2015 Atlanta Horror Film Festival and the New Screenwriters of Los Angeles (NFMLA) showcase. Since 2016, Katherine has focused on honing her craft, expanding her writing portfolio.

Paranormal Thriller and Comedies:

Katherine specializes in paranormal thrillers and comedies. She loves paranormal thrillers as a way to craft a compelling story that expands the way we think of reality. She draws from over 20 years of experience as a professional consulting with people who are adversely affected by energy. For her writing, she combines this experience with her broad education. She also loves to laugh; writing comedy is a natural extension of her personality. Her comedies are unconventional and include the silly, situational, and fish out-of-water character elements that audiences love.

Katherine has placed as a Finalist in the Creative World Awards and the Emerging Screenwriters Top 100.

FICTION WRITING

Katherine's first novel is in process, and explores the origin of evil.
